Dishwasher Fires

Doesn't look like a dishwasher to you? Well, it's the control board for a Kenmore Dishwasher made by Whirlpool - and we were lucky. We were home and were able to shut the power off before any damage could happen. A lot of folks have not been that lucky and have had major kitchen fires or their home has burned up.

When I first heard about dishwasher fires in January, I wasn't too concerned. After all - there is a lot of water in them. Well, here's telling you to pay more attention. If you start to hear a "clicking" sound, that wasn't there before, it could be the control board getting ready to fail. That's what we heard starting about 2 weeks ago. When it failed, strong black smoke came out from the top of the unit. The kitchen still stinks!

And the kicker, these control boards have been failing for awhile now, and nothing from the manufacture to alert owners of a potential problem.

Be warned and be aware!
